Patrizio, Paris - february 2010

Here I am then, with my equipment, in front of the enormous building of Frigos street.  Now what do I do? Without any fixed idea, I walk on, a door, a second door and then a third.  Knock knock .. the door opens on Patrizio. “Hello, I am a photographer, can I take a few photos of you?” We agree to a date and I come back. He is a piano tuner and shows me round his workshop. Where do I start and what with? Him? This character? because there’s no doubt about it, Patrizio is some character! Everywhere there is a real shambles and I start taking photos aimlessly, then come to a stop.  What’s the point? We finally get round to talking and I sit down to watch him work. Then I listen to this free electron relate isolated fragments of his life .. fascinating.  Patrizio always has an anecdote to share.  The afternoon moves on and now it’s quite clear: I WANT TO TELL PATRIZIO’S STORY. I leave with a few photos in reserve and determined to do even better when I come back the following week.
